The Gathering
Processional Hymn
Priest: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
Priest: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them to the Lord
Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord.
All: It is just and right to give Him thanks and praise.
The confession
Priest: We gather here today to praise God Almighty for his creation and to give thanks for all that is given to us so freely, however at this time we also congregate in this house of God to ask His blessing upon the people of Ocia who suffer under a cruel and unjust regime, may the Lord’s blessing shine down upon them and bring them peace. Let us now bring our lives before the Lord that he might forgive us our sins:
All: Almighty God,
to whom all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from whom no secrets are hidden,
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts,
by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love You,
and worthily magnify Your Holy name,
through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Priest: God so loved the world that he have his only Son Jesus Christ to save us from our sins, to be our advocate in Heaven, and to bring us to eternal life. Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, firmly resolved to keep God’s commandments and to live in love and peace with all.
All: Almighty God, our Heavenly Father,
we have sinned against you
and against our neighbour
in thought and word and deed,
through negligence, through weakness,
through our own deliberate fault.
We are truly sorry and repent of all our sins.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
who died for us,
forgive us all that is past
and grant that we may serve you in newness of life
to the glory of Your name.
Amen
The Absolution
Priest: Almighty God,
who forgives all who truly repent,
have mercy upon you,
pardon and deliver you from all your sins,
confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,
and keep you in life eternal;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
The Gloria in Excelsis
The Liturgy of the Word
Reader: the first reading is taken from the book of Matthew chapter 7, verses 7 and 8.
This is the word of the Lord.
All: thanks be to God.
Priest: Let us now, before Almighty God, profess our faith.
All: We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of Heaven and earth,
of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father,
through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from Heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again,
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into Heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory,
to judge the living and the dead,
and his Kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and Son is worshipped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one Holy Catholic and apostolic church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
The peace
The Lord Jesus Christ taught us to always pursue peace, therefore let us offer to those around us a sign of that peace.
The congregation offer a sign of peace to those around them/
The prayers
Priest: Let us pray:
Almighty God, we think at this time of the people of the Republic of Ocia who suffer under an unjust government. We pray that their leader, who currently resides in Brooksby Psychiatric Hospital, would see Your light and cease his aggressive actions against his neighbours and elect to follow the path of peace which you lay before him and all of us. We pray also for those who’re sick at this time, and also for those we knew but no longer see.
Lord in Your mercy.
All: Hear our prayer.
Priest: As our saviour taught us, so we pray:
All: Our Father in Heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation by deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and forever.
Amen.
The Dismissal
Priest: Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
All: In the name of Christ.
Processional Hymn
Alleluia! Sing to Jesus;
His the scepter, His the throne;
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark the songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood:
"Jesus out of ev'ry nation
Has redeemed us by His blood."
Alleluia! Not as orphans
Are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us;
Faith believes, nor questions how.
Though the cloud from sight received him
When the forty days were o'er,
Shall our hearts forget His promise;
"I am with you evermore"?
Alleluia! Bread of heaven,
Here on earth our food, our stay,
Alleluia! Here the sinful
Flee to you from day to day.
Intercessor, friend of sinners,
Earth's redeemer, hear our plea
Where the songs of all the sinless
Sweep across the crystal sea.
Alleluia! King eternal,
Lord omnipotent we own;
Alleluia! Born of Mary,
Earth your footstool, heaven your throne.
As within the veil you entered,
Robed in flesh, our great high priest,
Here on earth both priest and victim
In the eucharistic feast.
His the scepter, His the throne;
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark the songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood:

The Liturgy of the Word
Reader: the first reading is taken from the book of Matthew chapter 7, verses 7 and 8.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek; and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
This is the word of the Lord.
All: thanks be to God.
Thine be the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son;
Endless is the victory, Thou o’er death hast won;
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
Kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay.
Thine is the glory, risen conqu’ring Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, Thou o’er death hast won.
Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
Let the church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing;
For her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting.
No more we doubt Thee, glorious Prince of life;
Life is naught without Thee; aid us in our strife;
Make us more than conqu’rors, through Thy deathless love:
Bring us safe through Jordan to Thy home above.
Endless is the victory, Thou o’er death hast won;
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
Kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay.

The Dismissal
Guide me, O thou great redeemer,
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty,
Hold me with thy powerful hand;
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven
Feed me till I want no more;
Feed me till I want no more.
Open now the crystal fountain
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer, strong deliverer;
Be thou still my strength and shield;
Be thou still my strength and shield.
When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction
Land me safe on Canaan's side:
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to thee;
I will ever give to thee.
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty,
Hold me with thy powerful hand;
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven
Feed me till I want no more;
Feed me till I want no more.
Open now the crystal fountain
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer, strong deliverer;
Be thou still my strength and shield;
Be thou still my strength and shield.

I will ever give to thee.

All: In the name of Christ.
