Colonel Windsor took a map and showed it to his superior, general Jeroen van Veen, who nodded and smiled.
"So this is the plan?" he asked.
"Err," Jonas hesitated, "Not really. I expect many changes to this original plan. But this is what we can use at the start. The 1st Reservist Division will stay in the east until we know it's safe to move it more to the west. However, we will not use them when necessary."
"Why not?" Jeroen asked, "It are decent troops, well educated and drilled like real soldiers."
"I know, sir. But I want them as possible backup when something goes wrong. That's why I will let them move around along the border, so the enemy gets confused and doesn't know for certain where they can strike."
"Mmm, very well. And what about our naval divisions?" Jeroen asked, "Why can't I see the 3rd Naval Division on the map?"
"Also reinforcements for when we need them. The airforce will help the western division, as I expect the most difficulties around Sable d'Or and La Roche Derrien. With a bit of luck, the Gascons surrender before we have to bomb their capital."
Jeroen nodded once more and sat down on his chair. He looked to the map, knowing that this plan wasn't so bad, but also made the Batavian troops more vulnerable by dividing them over such a distance. Communication would be essential.
"Where are the rebel and Gascon troops?" he asked.
"We aren't certain yet, sir," responded Jonas, "But we think the Gascon troops have retreated to the north-west, so in the neighbourhood of their capital. The rebels probably control the more southern parts. The east looks pretty vulnerable and that's why we hope to crush the armies there by dividing their nation in two. Once the 3rd Army Division has done its job, the Stormarkians can help cleaning up the mess in the east and center."
"I hope they will do more then that..." said Jeroen and Jonas left the room.

Summary: Battle plans have been made. The troops are arriving at their positions (the 2nd Naval Division hasn't arrived yet!). The 3rd Naval Division stays behind in Zeehuysen as reinforcement and the Batavians would like some help of the Stormarkians for when they invade Gascony.
