I was under the impression Gascony's noble forces would be fighting alongside everyone else against me (playing the rebels). Given those odds, I'll obviously fail.

The outcome of this conflict is already predetermined, so I will no doubt lose inordinate amounts of forces anyways.

When the word "rebel" force is used one does tend to think of the taliban and similar, pretty poorly armed civilians with maybe the odd piece of decent weaponry, what we have here is a multi-billion pound set of armed forces which most real life countries would be hard-pressed to gather.

Times change. Poor rebels become well develloped. That's why the north is such a dangerous threat.
